Graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1991.  Self employed in small and exotic animal medicine in private practice for 10 years.  Worked for CFIA in operations and policy divisions of Meat hygiene and Animal health programs for approximately 10 years as a Veterinary officer.  After leaving CFIA in 2008, started work with Erie Meat Products Ltd. as the lead for Regulatory Affairs and Quality assurance.   Vice chairperson for the board of directors for the Further Poultry Processors Association of Canada (FPPAC), have been a member of the board of directors since 2022.
